초록우산 어린이 재단과 함께하는 제임스최 작가의 5번째 도예 개인전

본 전시를 통해 발생한 작가 수익금 전액과 갤러리 수익금의 25%는 초록우산 어린이재단에 기부될 예정입니다.

안녕하세요. 저의 다섯 번째 개인전에 오신걸 환영합니다!

“언어를 넘어 우리를 경험으로 데려가는 것이 예술의 기능이다.” — 조지프 캠벨

예술은 감각을 통해 감정, 이야기, 그리고 진실을 전달하며 언어와 문화를 초월하는 특별한 힘을 갖고 있습니다.

올해 전시회를 위해 바다의 숨 막힐 정도로 웅장한 힘과 아름다움, 그리고 그곳의 생명체들에게서 영감을 받아 새롭게 제작한 조각 작품들과 기존 작품들로 구성된 컬렉션을 준비했습니다.

10.19 갤러리&라운지에서 열린 지난 네번의 전시회에서 사려깊은 지원을 보내주신 덕분에 초록우산 어린이재단에 작지만 의미있는 기부금을 전달해 인천 지역의 아동들과 청소년들을 후원할 수 있었습니다. 올해에도 여러분의 성원으로 어린이들에게 희망을 전하고자 합니다.

Artist Statement

Welcome to my fifth solo exhibition!

“It is the function of art to carry us beyond speech to experience.” — Joseph Campbell

Art has a unique power to eloquently convey emotions, stories, and truths via our senses in ways that transcend languages and even cultures.

For this year’s exhibition, I prepared some new sculptures inspired by the breathtaking power and beauty of the ocean and its inhabitants, along with a collection of previous works.

Thanks to your generosity and support from 10.19 Gallery&Lounge for my past four solo exhibitions, we were able to make small but significant donations to ChorokUsan for Children to help underprivileged children and young adults in Incheon. I hope to do the same with your support this year.
